Anjali Forber-Pratt: a Paralympic Inspiration

This month’s Boston Marathon, taking place on April 18, has inspired many an athlete, but Anjali Forber-Pratt’s story is pretty special. As a 5-year-old, parazlyzed from the waist down, she was cheering on the runners as they flowed down the streets of her hometown when she saw the wheelchair athletes navigating the course. “I want to do that,” she said. Fast forward 22 years later, and Anjali is one of the fastest women in the world in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter distances, and won a bronze medal at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing.
