Caramelized Sweet and Spicy Party Nuts

  • Yield: 8 to 10 servings

Ingredients

1teaspoon canola or olive oil
2cups shelled walnuts
1tablespoon light brown sugar
1/2teaspoon cinnamon
1pinch cayenne pepper
1/2teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, cayenne and salt. Saute nuts 5 to 6 minutes until they smell fragrant, appear glossy and the sugar melts. Remove nuts from pan to a plate; let cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.
