Date and Buttermilk Muffins

Ingredients
- 1/2cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2cup all purpose flour
- 2tablespoons wheat germ
- 1teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/3cup chopped dates
- 1/3cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2cup buttermilk
- 1/2cup vegetable oil
- 1/4cup packed light brown sugar
- 1-- egg
Instructions

Heat oven to 400F.

In mixing bowl, stir flours, wheat germ, baking powder and soda, cinnamon and nutmeg until blended. Stir in dates and walnuts.

Measure buttermilk and oil in the same 2-cup, add sugar and egg; whisk until thoroughly blended.

Pour liquid ingredients over dry. Stir, bake and cool.
