Falafel Burger
- Yield: 6-8 servings
Ingredients
- 2cans chickpeas
- 1 cup onion
- 3-4cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons lemon
- 4teaspoons olive oil
- 1teaspoon salt
- 1teaspoon black pepper
- 1teaspoon ground coriander
- 1teaspoon ground cumin
- 1teaspoon all-spice
- 1cup breadcrumbs, divided
- lettuce
- tomato, sliced
- cucumber, sliced
- For the Tahini Paste
- 1/4cup ground sesame paste (tahini)
- 1/4cup hot water
- 3tablespoons lemon juice
- 2cloves garlic
- salt to taste
Instructions
For the falafel burgers:
- Chop onions and garlic in food processor.
- Add chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil and seasonings.
- Pour mixture into a large bowl and mix with half the until firm enough to form into patties.
- Form patties and coat both sides in the rest of breadcrumbs.
- Very thinly coat bottom of pan with olive oil and cook on 2-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Place on paper towel to drain.
- Serve with buns and top with lettuce, tomato and cucumber.
For the Tahini paste:
- Add ingredients for tahini paste into a blender and blend until creamy. Serve with your falafel burger.
