Claim to Fame: You might recognize Joy Bauer from her regular appearances on NBC’s TODAY show as the program’s leading health and nutrition expert. But the busy wife and mother of three also hosts RLTV’s heartwarming show, Good Food, Good Deeds, serves as the exclusive nutritionist for the New York City Ballet, is a contributing editor to Woman’s Day Magazine, and has written numerous best-selling books, including The Joy Fit Club: Cookbook, Diet Plan & Inspiration and Joy Bauer’s Food Cures: Completely Revised & Updated. Because of her commitment to presenting reliable health information in a straightforward manner, Joy was recently honored with two prestigious awards: the 2010 National Media Excellence Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as the 2012 American Society of Nutrition Science Media Award. Favorite Healthy Dish: Joy’s favorite weeknight meal is her healthy, unfried chicken Parmesan. Says Joy, “I layer grilled chicken breasts with marinara sauce, reduced-fat mozzarella, and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and broil until the cheese melts.”
Secret Weapon: Joy’s secret to healthy living? “Having a positive attitude,” she says.
