Bad news for home hair-dye companies: According to a study published in The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) Journal, it may soon be possible to reverse the process by which hair turns grey as a result of stress or aging. “Going grey” is a result of hydrogen peroxide build-up in the hair follicle, which then bleaches itself from the inside out. But scientists from the Netherlands, Germany and the UK have discovered a potential cure in the form of a topical treatment that reacts when exposed to UVB rays, transforming the hair back to its natural color without the need for dyes.
