From Lasagna Baked Spinach Penne and Fiery Pork Fajitas with Spinach Flour Tortillas and Guacamole, to Lemony Pan-Seared Chicken with Pesto Potato Salad and Peas, these gorgeously green twists to traditional dishes will add an extra boost of both flavor and nutrients. “There are so many ways to sneak in green veggies to add extra flavor and fiber to recipes at home,” said Rebecca Lewis, in-house RD for HelloFresh.
A few ideas from Rebecca:
- Add in grated zucchini to your meatballs, hamburger patties, or spaghetti sauce. For a healthy twist on baked goods, you can even add in grated zucchini to your breads, muffins, and cookies!
- Pesto doesn’t always have to be basil-based! Add in kale or spinach and even other herbs like cilantro or parsley for a different and equally delicious flavor.
- Lime zest is an amazing way to add a zing of flavor to eggs, vinaigrettes, or beans.
- If you’re watching your carbs, Swiss chard, kale and cabbage all make great wraps as a replacement for tortillas and burger buns.
