Juice has taken the health world by storm, and it’s not hard to see why. Intensely flavorful and loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, fresh-pressed juices are an easy way to squeeze more fruits and veggies into your diet. These three invigorating juice recipes, perfect for juicing newbies, are your sure-fire ticket for boundless energy and vibrant health. Did we mention they taste delicious, too?! It’s time to get your juice on, people.
GREEN LEMONADE
This green juice is refreshing and balanced, with a tangy finish. Lemon juice serves two purposes: It brightens the sweet, mineral flavor of the spinach, and it adds vitamin C, which makes all that iron more absorbable.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium cucumber
- 4 cups/115 g packed spinach
- 1 large apple, cored
- 1/2 lemon, peeled and seeded
Directions: Juice the cucumber, spinach, apple, and lemon, in that order. Run the pulp through again to extract as much liquid as possible. Serve immediately.
ORANGE SUNRISE
Sweet-tart oranges are in perfect harmony with sweet-earthy carrots, and the burst of scarlet that explodes from the pomegranate seeds looks brilliant. This is a great starter juice for someone who likes O.J. for breakfast—it’s a way to ease in carrot juice while retaining the flavor of a favorite morning beverage.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup/140 g pomegranate seeds (arils)
- 2 medium carrots
- 3 medium oranges, peeled and seeded
Directions: Juice the pomegranate seeds, carrots, and oranges, in that order. Run the pulp through again to extract as much liquid as possible. Serve immediately.
STRAWBERRY-VANILLA SPRITZER
The blend of apple juice with sweet berries and a hint of vanilla makes a delicious drink. The sparkling water is refreshing and adds a little tingle.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups/225 g strawberries, hulled
- 1 large apple, cored
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup/120 ml sparkling water
Directions: Juice the strawberries and apple, in that order. Pour into a glass, add the vanilla and sparkling water, and stir until combined. Serve immediately.
