The free phone and computer app Lose It! not only calculates calories, suggests serving sizes and keeps a running tab of calories per day, it “redlines” you when you have exceeded your daily limit. It also tracks calories burned during exercise and allows you to create online support groups. “It made me realize my portion sizes were out of control,” says Natalie McCain of Houston, Texas, who has lost 69 pounds using the app. “It is hard to go wrong as long as you are honest.”
