Balsamic, Honey and Black Pepper Marinated Berries

1-- (16-ounce) container strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/2cup balsamic vinegar
2tablespoons honey
1/4teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2-- cinnamon stick


  1. Place the sliced berries in a large nonreactive bowl. In a nonreactive small saucepan, combine the vinegar, honey, black pepper and cinnamon stick. Cook 8 to 10 minutes over medium-high heat to reduce the vinegar mixture by half. It will be syrupy. Pour over the berries and let marinate 10 minutes.
