According to cocktail lore, the legendary Mint Julep cocktail was first made with Cognac before Kentucky Bourbon edged it out as the spirit of choice.
Ingredients
- 6-- mint leaves
- 1teaspoon sugar syrup
- 2ounces Cognac
- -- Crushed ice
Instructions
- Place mint leaves in a short tumbler; press with a muddler or the back of a spoon to break up leaves and release the mint’s fragrance.
- Stir in sugar syrup. Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice; add Cognac and stir well to make the glass frosty.
