Indonesian Sambal

1/2cup chili peppers, halved and seeded, if desired
5-- garlic cloves
1teaspoon sugar
1teaspoon kosher or sea salt
1tablespoon white vinegar
1tablespoon lime juice


  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor fitted with the metal blade or a blender and blend or process until smooth. Place in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate up to two weeks. Makes about 1 cup.
