Jerry’s Honey-Nut Wheat Bread

Ingredients
- 1cup milk
- 1cup water
- 1/2cup honey
- 1/4cup butter or margarine
- 3cups whole wheat flour
- 3-4cups all purpose flour
- 2packages active dry yeast
- 1-- egg
- 1teaspoon salt
- 2teaspoons cinnamon
- 1cup raisins
- 1cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- In saucepan warm milk, water, honey and butter to 110F
- In large mixing bowl combine 2 cups of the whole wheat flour, 1 cup of the all purpose flour, yeast, egg, salt, cinnamon and warmed milk mixture; mix to blend. Mix in raisins and nuts. Gradually add remaining whole wheat flour and enough all-purpose flour to form dough.
- Knead on floured surface, until smooth and satiny, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Place in greased bowl, turning once. Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk, 40 to 60 minutes.
- Bake in 350F oven 40 to 45 until golden until golden and loaves sound when tapped. Remove from pans; cool on wire rack.
